It’s the bane of youth and the destroyer of vulnerable self-esteem. Acne. We’ve all been through the awkward pangs of adolescence and the changes brought on by a sudden new flood of hormones. But some side effects of this natural transition in life are less pleasant than others.
First, what is acne?prt030
The pores in your skin are designed to serve as escape hatches that the body can use to dump unnecessary waste. When toxins and oil builds up in the pores, they can become blocked. The skin naturally covers and remedies this block by forming what appears as a pimple. It’s natural. Everyone can get this result if they have oily pores that become blocked.
This is more pronounced in teenagers because the sudden flood of hormones that signal the change into adulthood kick the facial oils into high gear. It’s an unfortunate byproduct of the hormonal surge. However, there are several things about modern lifestyles that contribute to excessive toxins in the facial pores and we can make the choice to eliminate those in favor of a more free, unclogged, and cleansed detox of toxins through the pores.
First… Avoid foods and drinks that increase the oil content in your bloodstream and, ultimately, your skin. These include things laden with high-fructose corn syrup like soda, as well as sugary candies and greasy fried food. All of this puts an added strain on the body to dump the toxins, which usually end up being routed to the pores.
Second… Excercise and good old fashioned sweating are natural ways to help the body eliminate toxins through the pores without an excessive build-up that results in pimples. Sweating clears the pores and helps the toxins flow out without unsightly blockages.
Third… Keep your face clean! This seems obvious and, in truth, it’s the one thing most people agree on and most anti-acne campaigns focus on. But it’s not the only thing. Keeping your pores scrubbed and cleaned out allows the toxins to escape easily but if you aren’t keeping your body cleansed inside, you’re fighting against yourself.
Growing up is tough… but it isn’t unmanageable.Stay clean with simple body cleanse techniques and you’ll feel more triumphant in the battle against low self esteem.

Many people take sweating for granted.  Many deodorants and
anti-perspirants today are made to stop your body from sweating.
Sweating is a natural mechanism the body uses to cleanse and  remove
harmful toxins and parasites that build up in your body by secreting them through your pores.  The following step by step guide will show you how to not only sweat more BUT get the most out of every situation to help your body to what it was made to do.

1.  First thing you need to know is that Sweating is NOT BAD no matter what the advertisements tell you!  If you’re like me, you tend to sweat a lot, which may or may not cause some confidence issues… BUT just know that the more you sweat, the more waste your body is removing.  A jog a day keeps the doctor away!  :)

Even if you’re not a big jogger or feel like jogging isn’t the best choice for you, try to be active even while you’re at home.  You’d be surprised how satisfying it is to not only do housework and spring cleaning, but burn a few calories and detox your pores at the same time.

2.  Switch Deodorants!!!  Check out the deodorant you’re using and make sure it isn’t an antiperspirant.   A deodorant is made to mask the natural smell our bodies put off when we sweat, but an antiperspirant is made to STOP the sweat which is not a good step towards our goal of a Total Body Cleanse.

3.  Everything you do burns calories (a nice bonus) and sweating helps in ways most people don’t appreciate or understand.  If you’re at home, turn the air conditioner up a few degrees or don’t use it at all.  This will allow you a bit of extra sweat time to help cleanse your body a bit more.   Let’s say you’re at home and you want to sweat a little while watching TV,  you could easily throw on a sweatshirt or Long sleeve shirt to help your body sweat even just a little bit more without fooling with added exercise!

4.  Have you ever stayed at a Hotel and wondered why they would have a Sauna room?? Well most people don’t understand the multitude of health benefits a Sauna can provide.  A Sauna is helping your body to sweat at an accelerated rate, along with some muscle relaxation.  So next time you’re at a “Fancy” hotel,  check it out for a few minutes and
see if it helps you feel more cleansed.

5.  DON’T be AFRAID to SWEAT!  :)  One thing about our culture that I
believe is negatively affecting the health of our society is the
advertising that makes everyone believe sweating is bad!  It is clearly
not and once you get out and realize how healthy it is to just sweat a
little, you’ll realize the wealth of benefits sweating can truly have.
:)

Let’s do a quick recap of all the benefits sweating can have!

1.Toxin Removal The Natural Way
2.Clearer Skin
3.Healthier Weight Loss
4.Healthier Lifestyle
5.Last But NOT Least… a Happier Soul :)

healthy girlPeriodic body cleanses are certainly a staple of a well-balanced lifestyle but what about eliminating the factors that necessitate such cleanses?  While the majority of Americans have awful diets full of saturated fats and processed supplements, there are those of us that want to clean up our dietary lifestyle for the long term.  Obviously, a person who makes healthier food choices on a daily basis is going to be far less toxic, and thus require fewer periodic cleanses.  But how?

It always seems like such an insurmountable task to “eat healthy” or “go on a diet,” right?  Even the phrase itself gives you shudders because you imagine getting sick of salads for dinner all the time and avoiding everything that you love to eat.  But, I assure you, there are subtle changes you can make to your lifestyle and eating habits that will have a large impact on your overall health without leaving you feeling deprived.

1.    Commit to three vegetarian dinners per week.
Meat is very dense substance that takes our bodies a lot of effort to break down and digest.  Certain proteins in most meats have a tendency to cause build-up in the colon.
2.    Use lighter, fat free salad dressing.
3.    Add fruit to your cereal.
4.    Switch to skim or fat free milk & dairy.
5.    Drink a glass of pure, organic 100% juice three times a week.
6.    Replace one beef or pork entrée with fish.
Fish is easier on the digestive tract and has helpful Omega-3 fatty acids that other meat does not.
7.    Replace fried foods with something baked or grilled.
Greasy fried food is accountable for a large percent of the trans fats and heavy toxins in the modern diet.  Try to replace 2 portions of fried food per week for starters.
8.    Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day.
Getting more water through your body helps in the digestion process and keeps your muscles and joints lubricated and working at peak performance.  Water is essential to any body cleanse as well.
9.    Eat Wheat bread instead of its bleached White counterpart.
10.     Eliminate that second cup of coffee or that soda refill.
Caffeine is a drug that does several physiological things to your system.  The excitation of the nerves is the desired effect but the crash afterward is the body running low on essential nutrients burned up in the caffeine rush.

Some of these will seem harder to do than others but they are all relatively easy ways to reduce your toxic intake.   Instead of a full multi-day body cleanse, consider implementing a small step to improve your health.  Whenever you think of it, check the list and keep one of the points in mind for the next couple days.  These subtle changes to your diet will have lasting impacts on your health and longevity.
